Illinois Personal Injury Lawyers Serving Chicago & Statewide
McDevitt & Cobb, P.C. is a Chicago-based personal injury law firm that represents clients throughout Illinois and, where the case warrants, across state lines. We will go anywhere in Illinois where there is a serious case to be handled. If a claim is worth pursuing, we will do the work to pursue it.
Our Office: Downtown Chicago
Our office is located in the heart of downtown Chicago at 121 W Wacker Drive, Suite 1600. The location places us within minutes of the federal courthouses and the state courthouses of the Circuit Court of Cook County, and within easy reach of Chicago’s public transportation. Most of our clients meet with us at our office, but in cases involving serious injury we are also able to come to a client’s home, hospital, or rehabilitation facility.

Illinois Counties and Regions We Serve
Personal injury cases turn on facts that happen in particular places, and the courts that hear them are scattered across Illinois. We routinely handle claims throughout the Chicago metropolitan area and across the state.
Cook County Personal Injury Cases
Cook County is home to the firm’s office and the majority of our cases. We regularly appear in the Circuit Court of Cook County, including the Daley Center for civil matters and the suburban district courthouses in Skokie, Rolling Meadows, Maywood, Bridgeview, and Markham. We represent clients throughout Chicago and the surrounding suburbs.
Lake County Personal Injury Cases
We handle cases filed in the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit in Waukegan and represent clients throughout Lake County, from Waukegan and North Chicago to Libertyville, Mundelein, and the lakefront communities.
Will County Personal Injury Cases
Our firm represents injured clients in Will County, with cases filed in the Twelfth Judicial Circuit in Joliet. We serve clients in Joliet, Naperville, Bolingbrook, Plainfield, and the broader Will County area.
Winnebago County Personal Injury Cases (Rockford)
We handle serious injury matters in Rockford and throughout Winnebago County, with cases filed in the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit. Distance from Chicago is not a barrier to representation.
DeKalb County Personal Injury Cases
We represent clients throughout DeKalb County, including DeKalb, Sycamore, and Sandwich, with cases filed in the Twenty-Third Judicial Circuit.
Quad Cities Region (Rock Island & Henry Counties)
We handle cases on the Illinois side of the Mississippi in the Quad Cities region, including Rock Island, Moline, East Moline, and surrounding communities in Rock Island and Henry Counties.
We are licensed in Illinois state and federal courts, and we have tried, mediated, and settled cases in courthouses throughout the state. Where a case is filed and where it is litigated often matters to its outcome, and we work to make sure those decisions are made strategically.
Cases Beyond Illinois
While the majority of our work is in Illinois, serious injuries can happen anywhere, and the right lawyer is sometimes more important than the right zip code. Daniel J. McDevitt is also licensed to practice law in Wisconsin, and our firm has handled significant personal injury cases in:
- Iowa
- Ohio
- Wisconsin
When a matter requires representation in a state where we are not admitted, we associate with experienced local counsel as needed to pursue the case effectively.
We Will Travel for the Right Case
If a member of your family was seriously injured or killed and you believe an at-fault party may be responsible, we want to hear from you regardless of where in Illinois you live. We will travel to meet with you, your family, or your treating physicians, and we will travel for depositions, hearings, and trials. Distance is not a reason to settle for representation that is not right for your case.
